Ibiza – hippie style and boho vibes

Cruising around Ibiza in a camper van and seeing as much of the island as possible in just under a week’s vacation – that was the plan, and that’s what we did. Of course, we were out and about in an effort to soak up lots of boho vibes. And luckily that’s not too difficult on the hippie island of Ibiza!
Discover our favorite boho places in Ibiza
We chose the beautiful Cala Nova campsite north of Santa Eularia as the base for our excursions to many beautiful boho-style destinations and beautiful beaches, as it is both beautiful and within walking distance of some of the places we wanted to visit. We not only found a shady spot for our campervan, which we booked via Airbnb, but also many other amenities. Very clean sanitary facilities, as well as a nice café, a play area for children and a small mini market just around the corner, to name but a few. Accordingly, we felt both very comfortable and safe in this well-maintained complex.
A day at the Ayianna restaurant and beach club lets hippie heart beats faster
I was particularly looking forward to this trip, because the ambience at Aiyanna Ibiza is really unbeatable. Not only the quiet location in the bay of Cala Nova, but also the unique design of the restaurant are something very special. The huge colorful parasols immediately give off a relaxed hippie vibe and fit in perfectly with Ibiza.
Fortunately, I had already reserved the beach loungers with parasols and the table for lunch online weeks before our trip, as it would not have been possible to get anything on site. However, we had a great spot on the beach, right in front of the restaurant at the beach with crystal-clear water.
The food at Aiyanna was delicious and rounded off the trip. The day at Ayianna was definitely one of the most beautiful stops on our trip and we definitely want to come back. Hippie Hippie Yey!
Atzaró Beach, the boho paradise on the beach in Ibiza
Just a few minutes’ walk from the Aiyanna, at the southern end of the bay of Cala Nova, also in the walking distance of our campsite, we found another boho dream. Although you have to dig a little deeper into your pockets to dine at the Atzaró Beach restaurant , the fantastic ambience and delicious food were well worth it. Here, too, you can relax on beach loungers and cozy sofas, stroll around the boutique and sip cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a must-visit for all boho-lovers!
Our next tip is also a must for any of our trips to Ibiza, because it’s just soooo beautiful!
La Paloma Café and Restaurant – back to nature
Inland you will find the village of San Lorenzo, which is home to La Paloma. This little gem impresses with its Mediterranean flair, a bit boho, a bit hippie, as well as the lush garden, where you can sit and enjoy life. The Paloma also enchants with its fresh, original and mostly healthy, Italian-inspired range of food and drinks. Please dig in!
The small menu changes frequently, depending on seasonal conditions and current offerings. That’s why there are always new delicacies on the board with the handwritten offers. It is also advisable to reserve a table online in advance at Paloma, because since the New York Times and Spanish Vouge, among others, have reported on the small restaurant, it is definitely no longer an insider tip. Parents can book a table in the garden area with a view of the playground and enjoy nature while the little ones have plenty of space to let off steam.
Although it is of course also very nice inland, the next stop takes us back to the coast. Because we love the sea so much. At the southernmost tip of Ibiza is the beautiful white sandy beach of Es Cavallet, where our next destination is located.
El Chiringuito – the beach bar with lots of bohemian flair for young and old
If you want to spend the whole day on the beach, then El Chiringuito is the right place for you, because here you are catered for from breakfast to dinner, you can hire beach loungers with parasols and you also have the refreshing water right infront of you. As a special treat for parents, El Chiringuito offers a children’s area where the little ones can paint, do handicrafts and play with other children while the grown-ups sit together over an extended lunch, for example. The restaurant’s furnishings in natural tones of wood, raffia or bamboo are super cozy and really bring on the hiliday vibes. Bali or Ibiza – it doesn’t matter, the main thing is boho!
We had planned to spend the whole day there, but unfortunately it was so windy that we didn’t enjoy the time on the beach. We therefore cut our visit short and we left not long after breakfast, but will be happy to come back again to enjoy the full experience. With this in mind: See you soon, El Chiringuito!
However, as we didn’t want to miss out on the beach day completely, we continued along the coast towards Sant Antoni de Portmany. North of the village, we finally arrived at a cute little bay with a restaurant.
Cala Gracioneta Chiringuito
The restaurant in the bay with the same name is one of the most beautiful and relaxed beach restaurants on the island. Rustic and boho-style, the Cala Gracioneta Chrirnguito is exactly what makes our hearts beat faster. Boho cloud 9, so to speak!
In the shade of pine trees, you can enjoy one of Ibiza’s best paellas while gazing out over the turquoise blue sea. La dolce vita in Spanish.
After our tips for beautiful restaurants, beach clubs and bays with boho or hippie flair, here are just a few more recommendations for beautiful boho hotels on Ibiza.
Three great hotels on Ibiza in boho style
I can’t (yet) give a personal travel report for these hotels because I haven’t stayed there myself. Nevertheless, I am happy to share with you the list of boho style hotels that are at the top of the list for my next trip to Ibiza. As Ibiza has no shortage of boho flair and hippie style, this list could be even longer. But here are my top 3 future hotel visits in Ibiza:
1st Petunia Hotel Ibiza (Adults Only)
With a spectacular view of the island of Es Vedrá, this lovingly designed boutique hotel landed at the top of my wish list. I particularly like the mix of boho styles that are typical of Ibiza, but also Bali and Mykonos. The complex is beautiful, whether it’s the rooms, the pool area, the restaurants or the rooftop bar. Hotel Petunia*, here we come!
2nd Agroturismo Hotel Can Sastre
The small boho paradise Can Sastre* is surrounded by beautiful gardens, orange and olive trees. Situated pretty much in the middle of the island. In the interior, the hotel offers a lot of peace and quiet on the one hand, and on the other, thanks to its central location, plenty of flexibility to get to all the coasts of the island quickly. Healthy breakfast, tapas by the pool in the afternoon and evening. It literally screams: Life is beautiful !!!!!
3rd OKU Ibiza
The Oku Ibiza* is located approx. one kilometer north of Sant Antoni der Portmany, very close to Cala Gracioneta. Like all OKU Group hotels, the OKU Ibiza is a treat for every boho lover. Classic Boho style is combined with minimalist modernity. The hotel leaves nothing to be desired if you like the style. Whether spa, fitness or movie under the stars, it certainly won’t be boring. The only downside: close to the sea, but no sea view.
Vivi’s Creamery, Ibiza Town
Ice cream! Where? Theeeere! Ruuuun!.
Our tried and tested and simply heavenly delicious ice cream tip: Vivi’s Creamery. Vivi is Nico Rosberg’s wife and we know each other from my years in Formula 1, but I had never tried her ice cream before. A stop at Vivi’s was therefore on the agenda before we boarded the ferry to Formentera. And this stop in the beautiful old town of Ibiza Town was definitely worth it. Not only do you have a wide selection of delicious ice cream flavors and toppings, you can also sit on the small terrace and watch people strolling around. The next time we’re in Ibiza, we’ll definitely be feasting at Vivi’s again! Ice Ice, baby!
