Your Favorite Lakeside Escape in Parey at Lake Mühlensee

We are excited to share one of our absolute favorite travel destinations in Germany with you today. It is a place where you can spend a perfect weekend and will probably want to stay much longer because it feels so welcoming and there is so much to discover. We are talking about the little boho paradise by the lake, Dein Lieblingsplatz in Parey. This beautiful hidden gem is located near Magdeburg, right on the shores of Lake Mühlensee. The lake is actually an offshoot of the Elbe River, making it a wonderful starting point for boat tours and exploring the surrounding canals. For us, Dein Lieblingsplatz is one of the most beautiful accommodations we have found in Germany so far.

Sleep in a Floating Igloo on the Lake

There are several types of accommodation on the property. We stayed in the floating igloo, and it was definitely our favorite. There are only four of them, placed in pairs, peacefully floating right on the lake. Each one even comes with its own swan pedal boat, which is simply too lovely not to use.

The igloo itself is incredibly cozy and comes with a small kitchenette for those who prefer to cook for themselves. A real highlight is the little fireplace on the terrace, which creates a wonderful atmosphere in the evening. We spent hours sitting outside, wrapped up and simply enjoying the view over the lake. The fire and the string lights bathed everything in a soft glow, and the mood was just perfect.

From the very first moment, we felt completely at home. Everything is designed with such care that you can truly feel how much love has gone into this place.

A Boho-Style Restaurant with Attention to Detail

If you do not feel like cooking, the stylish Strandhaus Restaurant on the property has everything your heart desires. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon cake, or ice cream, everyone is sure to be well taken care of here.

The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing. There was so much variety, everything was beautifully presented, and it was all chosen with such care. We could have sat there forever enjoying breakfast because it was just so lovely. The menu is modern, diverse, and very reasonably priced. And the best part is that two adorable robots help with serving and clearing the tables, supporting the friendly service team. It is a real highlight for kids, and to be honest, I thought it was pretty cool too.

The restaurant completely won us over with its cuisine. Everything tasted amazing, and even the large ice cream sundae on the sun terrace was pure summer bliss. The cozy Boho-style ambiance is unbeatable because it feels so incredibly inviting. Absolutely beautiful!

Things to Do at Lake Mühlensee

Besides the relaxing part, there is plenty to do on the property and in the surrounding area. You can rent pedal boats if your accommodation does not already include one, or go fishing at a leisurely pace. There are also horseback riding options and small animal experiences, which are especially enjoyable for children.

If you get hungry in between, you can use the Regio Box vending machine. It is available year-round, 24 hours a day, and very convenient when the restaurant or reception is closed. You can find all kinds of items there, including snacks, drinks, small toiletries, and even some local products. The small shop at the reception is also perfect for picking up beautiful decor items and souvenirs.

Options for Every Preference

The property really has something for everyone. There are holiday homes, floating houseboats, a rooftop igloo, a beach house, cozy hotel rooms, a tiny house, and even a floating luxury boat. Feel free to check the site map to get an overview of the entire property.

A large playground ensures that boredom is never an issue. In addition to all the activities, there is also a wonderful wellness offering. On Lake Mühlensee, there is a floating sauna with views of the water, and if you wish, you can even get a massage right in your accommodation. It is the perfect combination of nature, relaxation, and well-being. Honestly, a weekend is hardly enough to discover everything.

Final Thoughts

All types of accommodation have their charm and are lovingly designed, just like the entire property. We can especially recommend the floating igloos. But be careful: they are extremely popular. If you want to visit on a weekend during the warmer months, you should book well in advance, ideally a year ahead, because otherwise they may already be fully booked.

For us, the stay was an unforgettable experience. It is one of those places you want to return to immediately after leaving. A place to breathe, relax, and simply be happy. Truly an absolute favorite spot!
